Is dying okay?

do you lose anything when you die if you have the restoration thing activated on the level, is there no draw back or anything or like achievement to beat the game without dying?
so far I have just loaded my latest save if I die but was wondering if just spawning at the re spawn points is fine and I don't lose any progress or anything?

You don't lose anything; only progress lost is the distance you need to walk back.

There are story event areas where if you die you will need to reload a save, though. So keeping saves is recommended anyway.

you only lose time to return to the place you last fought

One exception: Getting killed by a reaver is always final. Otherwise it is no big deal, assuming the reurrection station on the level was activated.
