Enviro Pack V2

Minor spoilers ahead.

Is it possible to get the Enviro Pack V2 before going to Beta Grove? I've cleared Alpha and Delta, I've got Enviro Pack V1, but when I go to travel to Beta, I get a message telling me not to enter without an enviro pack.

Now, I think I could probably tank my way through with detox patches but that seems rather inelegant. I know the Enviro Pack V2 is on maintenance and I've got the Abe Ghiran's head for the scanner, but I can't see to find the scanner, plus I've got a few locked doors in maintenance in general that i can't interact with, I presume they need a story event to occur before I can access them.

V2 is for radiation.

V1 is for toxin.

You've got the correct enviropack already.

I think it's gatekept because of those locked doors as a story progression mechanic. You're going to have to rough it in Beta grove but fortunately there isn't much else to do in there other than flip the switch and leave.

Nope. V1 is the best you can get before Beta grove.

Thanks guys, I made it through the grove. I feel like the end is in sight, almost sad in a way as I am loving this game so much.

The event that unlocks the rest of maintenance is when you attempt to jettison Beta grove.

You *can* do the minimum in Beta Grove and get the V2 enviropack before fully exploring it. And the V2 enviropack is actually more efficient even with biological toxins, but only mildly so: it takes the Beta Grove contamination level from 22 to 15. So while that is something you can do, it is a bit unnecessary.
