Report a translation problem
It's supposed to be released when System Shock Remake will be released. Backers actually get it for free with the lowest tier that gets you the System Shock Remake ($30, IIRC).
Now consider that Night Dive already tried to do something like that in their first attempt at remaking System Shock, and it didn't end well.
So yeah, no SS2 remake unless a publisher with a big wallet steps up to make it happen. And in that case they'd almost certainly want a bigger, more experienced studio to do it.
Then a few decades later we might get a remaster of System Shock 2, assuming gaming is still something humans do that far into the future.
But then, I can also understand the people who argued that it would stray too far from the original. It's just that I personally prefer the aesthetics and feel of SS2.
I totally agree that SS2 is still kind of modern in its design these days. They were light years ahead of the times. And Ken Levine is an absolute genius.
