It seems like trying to use the older instructions to fix this (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2165968922) creates a situation where the exe is looking for 32-bit versions of the dlls. The resulting exe won't launch that I can tell.
- following that guide
- registering the game in ubisoft connect
- restarting the computer a bunch
- getting the 32bit versions of the dlls
Has led me to get past the "activation restart" screen. I could not possibly reconstruct the process but I managed it with those tools.
Addon activated Reboot loop
You have successfully activated the addon. Before the addon features can be used, the updater must still download the necessary data.
To do this, the game will now be ended and the updater will start. Please make sure that the updater can connect to the internet. Click on "Restart"to begin the process.
Still, I get the reboot loop.
Can someone help. It worked 18 hours ago. Now I am stuck with the reboot. I also uninstalled 2 times already. I also followed the guide Xruptor. In my Anno 2070 local files has no AutoPatcher.exe. So replacing the
anno5.exe Message System Error
The code execution cannot proceed because binkw32.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix the problem.

AGAIN.
It was a problem for years, but there was a workaround with an offline patcher etc. It was fixed in that update 3.0 or whatever. But now I started the game and it came back. Same thing- addon is being activated and connection to the servers is lost.
Restarted the game, an uPlay, few times but nothing helps.
Reinstalling the game. If that doesn't help I'll just give up because it's just exhausting to keep fighting with their terrible client.
2070 is a great game and it's a shame. Not only their client keeps 'forgetting' my PC is a trusted device, but I can't even properly access game I've bought.
As far as I can tell, the solution was to restart Anno 2070 over and over again until it worked.
I guess it sequentially applied a patch one at a time.
Edit: oh no wait, it's back in the reboot loop again.
Support are useless as always. *Check Ports, disable firewall, NAT type, try another network?!, Clean reinstall of windows, buy new computer, buy a new house with network.*
Obviously, the last couple are exaggerations, but the idea is still that they have been very useless and a lot of people seem to have that issue.
I give up. I don't want to play anno or any type of anno game that requires UbiConnect.
Can't really ask for money back, as i've had this game for years and have 46+ hours, so.. was fun when it worked, but now it won't, and i don't have the time to invest in trying to brute force my way in.
(The steps above can work. It will sorta allow the game to run, but without any form of network connection, so to me, that's not really a fix, but in case some of you want to try if you don't care about network connection)
Cheers and good luck all
i got only lucky that i buy deep ocean and that actually helpt for me but iff every 1 else has all the dlc's and still getting the reboot then nothing works
I don't have deep ocean dlc. Maybe that is the reason the game client won't stop reboot looping?
