Why is creating a profile name such a hassle?

I know this has already been mentioned before, I'm sure.....

It wouldn't simply accept "eric" and my last name didn't work either. But when I combined the two into an unreadable name it worked without a problem. Now I'm stuck with a silly username that I don't want with no way of changing it. WTF Ubisux?! I was getting an error message each time I entered my name in the field which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I have half a mind to just ask for a refund at this point, but the game looks pretty good.

If enough people complained about crap like this we could put Ubisoft out of business. I'm French Canadian and I can tell you how arrogant Ubisoft Montreal is and the workplace harassment that occurs daily at their headquarters. The company is just too arrogant to admit they screwed up and provide a patch for this silliness. U.S. game developers can't get away with this rookie bs because the consumers here are too smart for that crap.

May we please know what specific error you were receiving when attempting to enter a Profile Name?

Profile Names cannot be changed later on and the game should notify you of this, but we'd like to know as to what was preventing you from using your preferred name.
