For upgrades check other characters, they'll have random upgrades which can be changed for a price. Research I beleive also yields upgrades, though I haven't got that far in it myself. You'll need access to SAAT blueprints, they should prompt you when those are available. You build up lab assistants and get them to researchers, then with enough researchers you can unlock the academy. Numbers required for unlocking structures should state when you tool over the building build icon.
I hope this helps.
That’s very expensive and for a long time I am in red numbers.
When numbers are green again things become more painful, spam more houses increase the goods required, suddenly you see your numbers turning red, you check out and they ran out of life style objects, to make more factories and collect more resources for them… Spam a bit more houses and now they want more luxury food….
It’s an endless battle and you start to lack space in your islands.
Still a fun game.
1) Build LOTS of houses & advance your civilization. (Tycoons provide more Tax Income per capita than Ecos).
2) Trade with NPCs.
If you have the Deep Ocean expansion, it offers an additional way of making money. You can buy shares off islands to increase your income via dividends.
