I can't make a uplay account

I spent all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ day dealing with the ubisoft launcher nonsense till I found someone to dl it and email it to me as the links would never work, and now I can't make a Uplay account because their registration form is a piece of ♥♥♥♥. Is there any way around this/fixing it before I say screw it and demand a refund while I just pirate the game?

Just got a friend to make me an account and now the launcher is telling me it can't connect. I have a blank hosts file, I have no firewall, I run everything in admin, what the ♥♥♥♥. One step closer to just pirating the game at this point.

Perhaps the sale was too successful?
The download servers are having major trouble. I think Uplay is also having trouble even creating new accounts it's so bad.

Anno2070 without expansion and DLC is about 6 GB, and that's a lot for everyone to try to download in a short span of time.

Back in the old days we never had this trouble, because the game came on a cartridge or CD... So I don't know what to say other than wait for the storm to calm down, and try again when the severs aren't being so hammered.

I think the real problem is all the patches. It's like, the game you get in the box in the store or first download is version 1.0, then it wants to apply patch after patch to get it to the present state. It'd be better for Ubisoft's bandwidth and for the sake of everyone's time to ditch the patching idea and put the completely up-to-date game installer on their server. The auto patching system has an admittedly terrible UI, and I bet it handles "can't connect to server" extremely poorly (all the black screen people are complaining about).

Really we have to use Uplay, I'm logged in on Steam should be enough DRM.

There a way around it ? (I know one and I am tempted to use it and just stop buying games all together, talking about games industry shooting itself in the foot)

I find it rather annoying how just in order to play it with steam you need another dammed game client. i baught it on sale so im glad i didnt waste too much on this piece of trash and yet another game client

Can't login to Uplay to even initially launch the game. If I'm unable to login when I get out of work in 10hours I'm refunding this ♥♥♥♥.

I tried to make a Uplay account before buying this and glad I did. Failed to make account, so no sale.

works fine for me, just download uplay trough their site and then start anno 2070 from steam. should add the game to uplay automatically and then it has no problems

It's true. I could never get it to launch either. Just refund it man. And watch out for uplay next time you buy a game. That ♥♥♥♥ sucks.

It's good to see that 2 years later the uplay site still has the same issue. I lost faith in Ubisoft a long time ago. If I had noticed that half the games in this Humble Bundle required uplay I wouldn't have bought it. Two days attempting and all I get is "Account not created!". How about a more descriptive error code so something could point a developer in the right direction to fix the issue?

Of course it's still an issue neither party (Steam or Ubi) have updated the old version of Uplay that comes with the download.

As always delete Uplay and download it from the Ubi website.
