Anno 2070

Anno 2070

SK Jul 13, 2013 @ 3:01am
Freeze on Black Screen, Loading Shaders and Spinning Blue cursor.
Purchased the game, stuck in black screen. So far I have tried the following:
-Updated Drivers and DirectX
-Reinstalled Anno 2070, (not sure if all the files were deleted in the process)
-Tried running the four .exe applications from the folder, they all do something apart from InstallTool
-Checked the integrity of the cache, it told me 4 files were missing and it downloaded them
-I don't have SLI, so I cannot disable that.
-Tried Selective Startup from MSCONFIG with Load Startup Item unchecked
-I don't have AVG Anti-virus because I heard that has been giving people problems.

This is starting to get on my tits, I'm just glad I got this during a sale, not full price! I also bought the expansion with Anno 2070.

Is it possible that Uplay and Steam are sort of conflicting with eachother? I had a Uplay account already for Assassins Creed, but I bought Anno 2070 from Steam last night.

Any quick help would be greatly appreciated!!

The same exact thing is happening to me! I can't for the life of me get this to work :(

I fixed mine! Go into the anno2070 folder in C:/programfiles/steam/steamapps/commmon/anno2070. Go to the properties of Anno5.exe, AutoPatcher.exe, and AwesomiumProcess.exe. Under the Compatibility tab, run the program in Windows XP (Service Pack 3). This worked for me, hopefully you too.

I know its been a long time since the original post but i just recently had this problem and nothing on the internet worked. So after 3 months dealing with ubisoft support i finally got the solution. Uninstall K-Lite Codec Pack, it is not compatible with ANNO 2070 apparently.
Hope this helps someone.

Had the same problem (actually still have) but here is how it worked for me:

- I had steam check for currupted files
- Steam found one corrupted file and repaired it
- The problem still occured, but this time i just tried to be patient
- After 5 minutes of 'loading shaders' and rotating blue orbs the game finally started!
- It immedialy updated itself
- The long loading time is still there, but it at least starts now every time I checked so far.
- The game may have startet previous to checking for corrupted files as well, but i was never patient enough.

No sure if that helps anyone, but just give it a try.

P.S. And no, my PC is not a potato. With my system it should start in seconds..theoretically...
