Which is better Anno 2070 Or Settlers 7 Paths of the Kingdom?

Question in the title. Theyre both city buidling sims, it seems they both received good reviews in general. Now I just want to know, should I go for a sci-fi city building game or a fantasy city building game? If you guys can help me out, I would appreciate it! What would make Anno 2070 better than Settlers 7? Or Vice Versa?

Well, Anno 2070 focuses heavily on economy and resource/supply and demand, as opposed to city building (though, that is present, it's just not as "strong" as in games like SimCity or Cities XL). I haven't played Settlers 7, so I can't really comment on this. But my advice is just to look up gameplay of both games and see what you think.

For Anno 2070, I suggest watching NanosuitNinja's "Beginners Guide" series. It explains the ins and out sof Anno 2070, so you'll understand what the gameplay is actually like.

I have both games, Settlers 7 is more warfare based, I would say get AOEII HD instead of Settlers 7 if you want a resource/warfare game. Anno 2070 is better than Settlers 7 if you want resource management and building, without having to focus on warfare, but you can have warfare if you want.

Anno 2070 is better, it is city building.
There is tons of things
you need to manage. (trade route, production chain, which trade ship for which island).


Settlers 7 is RTS game for kids and teens , not City building.
it is short PvP game.
You have very small area to build something.
the concept is "Build quickly in your small area, and win the game."

Welll Anno 2070 is the best game building game in my opinion first of all you can play it and dont get bored of it , its always cool and interesting game.

I kinda have to disagree. The city building aspect, in reality, is pretty weak =/ ... the biggest thing it has going for it is that everything looks nice (for the most part). Unfortunately, the game is too restrictive in both island size and building influence area for me to consider it a "city" builder.

But to each their own... (and this is coming from someone who considers Anno 2070 one of their favourite games, so yeah >.> )

Ok well I have that answer but for one final question, and this is the most important one, does it have great replay value? If so, how/why? Is the city building very in depth or not much? Is the city a live city too, by that I mean do you actually see things going on in the city that you dont micromanage? :Like people, cars, etc?

The reason I ask if it is good is because IGN gave it a 6/10 while others are giving it good reviews.

Don't trust IGN. Ever. They sell good ratings... If people don't want to give up the money for a good review, they'll get someone who isn't even that much of a fan of it to begin with to do the review. =I
