Anno 2070

Anno 2070

Did they just give everyone maximum career progression?
Since the release of the new Anno game that does not really look like I would enjoy it, I went back to Anno2070, but I found that my profile had 100% unlocked all of the career progression for all factions, and I was free to select from all the bonuses that came with it. For someone who completed the main campaign and not a whole lot else in the past, I thought that looked a little strange.

Is this somehow tied to the world events being cancelled for absolutely no reason other than to hope to drive people from their old, better game to their new, not-quite-good game?

Hmmmm… I just checked my profile after seeing your post.

I have ecos at 100% the others are too close to fill the last “circle”

I may be wrong but I feel I needed more to complete techs and tycoons, perhaps they give a push but not sure.

it would be fun to have an option to restart everything

It just seemed strange to me that me, with 52 hours of Anno2070 on my record have them all maxed... I am really confused...

Just checked - nope. I didn't get maxed.

I am in a similar situation to dragonrubi, I haven't played in a long time and when I redownloaded after the release of 2205 I found I am maxed out with Eco and Tycoon. The techs are almost there.

Global events have significant point bonuses that are doled out to everyone who's ever played the game, and it seems like there's people who like the game enough to devote significant amounts of time into grinding points to max them out. (There's one guy who's earned 671 points for the current run of Atomic Terror, for instance...and as I type this, I saw his name pop up in the ticker again).

So all of us who got away from the game for a while have been benefiting immensely from these world events and all those guys who are playing them so religiously.

Oh, I see... so just having owned the game for a long time has given me ... literally everything for free? That's almost a bit... pandering. :) But thanks for clearing it up Rashkavar.

Yes thanks Rashkavar i also had been scratching my head remembering that i had a bit less points for Tycoon and Techs.

Not everything, Phoenixon - just the career path stuff, which is the one thing that's designed to take a long time (irl) regardless of how much of a binge player you are. When I first played the game a couple years back, I remember being really annoyed by that system, since there's a severe limit on how many career points you can earn (50 for daily votes + weekly voting + a few hundred for the month long world events).

In all fairness, I think the 2205 version of career bonuses is handled much better - based on total population. That way, a dedicated/binge player can actually progress through and get the end game bonuses when they reach the end game challenges, rather than needing several months of busywork.
