That said. 2070 is easy enough to learn and hard to master. the campain doubles as the tutorial.
1404 is considered to be the best, but is, overall, harder.
This makes it... unique... while still keeping hold of Anno's gameplay.
2205 tried to create a new spin on this without the always-online requirement but... it got mixed reviews at release.
to be fair, not all of that list was bad but there was enough bad changes in it that it didnt do very well. most it went back to form in 1800 though did keep the seperate maps for different biomes, trading between them and being able to tell how much of something your making.
2070 is just a better game overall, easy to learn hard to master.
