Anno 2070

Anno 2070

This game is really disappointing
Just came from the Anno 1800 beta which was an absolute blast, and I've played 1404 more hours than I can count.....but I've been playing this one for about 15 minutes and it's already bugging the crap out of me. Why is the UI so confusing, and how do I make the stupid hologram shut the ♥♥♥♥ up?

I'd get a refund, but I've had this in my account since 2017. I bought the 2070 Collector's Edition when it came out in 2011 but I lost my code to it over the years. I don't remember it being such a let-down. Should I forget about this one and get 2205 instead? I'm dying to play more 1800 but I can't wait 3 months and I won't spend €60.

I am very sorry for your disapointment.

2205 is worse I'd say.

I mean if you got 3 months you can use the wiki (as this is kind of a wiki game) to learn and assist you through the gameplay elements. As for EVA (the hologram) do you mean during quest or freeplay or are you just stuck on the ark? AND DON'T BY THE TRASH 2205.

Good to know I shouldn't get 2205 because it looked interesting to me. By EVA I mean the creepy hologram chick that keeps telling me what to do, even though I already know. She keeps telling me there's new information about city development or something even though I've already played through an Anno game a dozen times over.

It's going to take a while for me to get used to this.

This one is actually quite good as well, the setting is not everyones cup of tea though. It does have a lot going for it with the research and underwater stuff and different factions.

Can you say Inertia? Sure you can...

Just learn the differences and enjoy the game. It's the same type as 1800 (yes, I play the beta, too). It's just a different setting.

This is one of the best Anno games there is lol.

I mean, I guess it's alright but my frame of reference is 1404 and 1800, and both are better. And I've got 1800 now and it's an absolute blast, having a great time with it and it's completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up my sleep schedule.

Better is a matter of perspective. My frame of reference is 2070, 2205 and now 1800. 2070 is, essentially, a vacation for Anno players. 2205 is...Pretty Lights R' Us, and 1800 is Masochists United, especially if you're trying to get past Artisans. What 2070 has over 1800, in my opinion, is co-op, which is what will make 1800 better once they implement it, and randomly generated islands that are actually affected by the seeds (Islands in 1800 are not randomly generated, they are specifically designed by the devs. Seeds only change the layout of the map)

Yeah, 1800 is hard as ♥♥♥♥. I'm 18 hours into my save and incredible luck has allowed me to have an Engineer population, but they're consistently unhappy and building up stable supply routes from the New World is extremely difficult due to the sheer size of my long-time enemy's fleet. I leveled her largest city in the Old World with a fairly small fleet, so that was quite easy, but I keep losing ships. And while I'm stabilizing the infrastructure for the resources needed by the higher population levels, the Farmers and Workers are unhappy because I can't satisfy their basic needs. I'm glad as hell there's a fifth population level in this one or this would've been the endgame for me. Getting through the first two took a few hours, the Artisans probably took me a full night of playing, and these Engineers will take at least two nights to please. Kind of like my girlfriend.
