If I recall correctly, it's a graphics card issue... in that you MUST have one of the cards listed. Any other card and you will encounter the dark-screen bug. You can sometimes get the map to reset by going into the 'options' menu and toggle 'vsynch', then hit 'apply'. Sometimes (occasionally?) this works and you can continue playing.

Nothing else worked, I was about to give up, but the V-Sync toggle fixed it! Thank you. If it wasn't for the bugs, Heroes 6 has the best ratio of graphics to enjoyability at the moment. This was really the last bug I hadn't fixed, but was a game ending one.

Hi saulohl, please contact our Support Team https://support.ubi.com including a DxDiag report and MS info, so we can take a look at this for you.

Thanks

I would like to know if there is a real solution for this....is it a game problem? all other missions work fine..only the new (expansion pack) has this.

So ... what was his answer? Because I have the same problem and I can't downgrade to an older version of my driver that can work with the expansion!

I had this exact problem with all the addon content (main game worked fine) 3 years ago and searched so many forums but what never able to solve it.

The closest fix I could find was some tickbox in your nvidia (no idea is amd drivers have it) graphics options that forces the game to use your graphics card instead of your inbuilt intel graphics chip for all activities. Problem was all I have is a built in intel graphics chip lol. Planning to finally get a nvidia card in the next 6mths or so and can finally test this possible solution out.

Go to your game directory folder, right click and run as administrator. This work for me.

I tried the "Run as Administrator" solution, because I'd really like the opportunity to play the expansions I bought.

It didn't make any difference for me, though. The graphics are still unplayably black on the expansion campaigns despite the fact that everything looks perfectly fine on the main campaign.

Those solutions appear to be about the black screen crash.

I'm having the black-screen-can't-see-but-the-game-hasn't-crashed problem. I tried both those solutions just in case. No luck.

It's telling that the game is so broken that we can't even effectively communicate which game-stopping bug we're having. :(

I tried this as well, but your support page no longer even offers this game as one of the choices in the drop-down menu.
1. Find the game folder. In this folder, find the game launch file (.exe). Go into the properties of this file and put a tick "disable optimization in full screen." Save the change. Make a new shortcut to this file on the desktop.
2. Remove the old game shortcut from the desktop. Run the game through the new shortcut.

I'm assuming that's some sort of Windows 10 fix? Don't have that option on Windows 7. And are you sure its for the darknened can't see the map all black bug? and not the black screen crash bug that people love to get this problem mixed up with.

Black terrain when entering battle screen
Whenever I enter any battle in the Sandro campaign the terrain in the battle screen goes all dark and you can only see the flashing particles and UI. Seems to be working fine in a different map. Darkness persists once the battle finished onto the adventure screen where everything is populated with a dark fog, changing the refresh rate forces the game to redraw all the resources and fixes the issue on the adventure map, but it doesn't do anything during the battle screen.
Any fix for this particular issue?
Game worked fine for me in my old win8.1 laptop, now on my new win10 PC I'm having issues. Changing compatibility settings doesn't fix it, thanks.

That's a different issue, that fixes the black screen upon starting the game, I have an issue within the game when entering certain battles everything goes dark. Seems to be especially bad when playing the Danse Macabre DLC.
