It's exactly this reason why I say DRM is a total freaking mess.
DRM doesn't stop piracy and only creates frustration and issues for law abiding, paying customers. It also puts so many restrictions on 'your' game that you may not even be able to play single player game if something is wrong with their server, their DRM, your internet, whatever the case may be.
And could you imagine if you got on the bad side of Steam where you may have bought 100+ games where they are under lock and key practically. You need to basically ask them to play your game, and if they say no, well too bad. They have the right to close your account, not offer any refunds, and even keep any moneys in your Steam wallet. Sure you can commence litigation to dispute it but would you really go through all that?
Anyways, just ranting now I guess so I'll end it here.
