Might & Magic: Heroes VI

Might & Magic: Heroes VI

Random Map Generator?
Question for any of you who own the game. Been searching on the net and was wondering if the game has a RMG? I saw a bunch of threads about how it didn't on release but was planned for later (like in 5). Just wondering if they included it as I'm on the fence with deciding to purchase. In all honesty I am perfectly content with V (I love that one) but figured I'd try some of the new mechanics in VI but a RMG is a must for me.

Ain't gonna happen. Ubi forum says because the maps are more complex in VI and RMG is not possible. Translate: we don't want RMG so we can sell you more map pack DLC's.

Ah thanks so much for the info.

they're so stupid, they destroyed a whole game....

What's next, Civilization 6, no random map generator?
It sounds like the same nonsense Blizzard spewed in response to the fact that Diablo 3 had no randomly generated levels.

"We can make a more hand-crafted story experience"
In a game where nobody plays it 28 times over for a linear story.

It's a shame, i was kinda interested in this game despite the bad fuzz. After playing the demo again i got used to it, it ain't all that bad.
But no randomly generated maps? Instant no-buy warning flag for me. I don't care how good a game like this is, if i can't randomly generate maps i have no exploration, no discovery, no surprises, no replayability value. It's Diablo 3 all over again. Different genre, same fatal mistake.

The man speaks the truth. Moreover, when they release said DLC they announce it like this :

- a whole new campagn - what they don't say is that it is 2 maps only (instead of 4 as in the original campaigns) and your hero starts at lvl10 and mows anything in his path because of that.
- new artifacts and set items - what they don't say is that these are only for the DLC and you will never see them again, ever, on any other map. No RMG helps in this regards as well.
- new bosses - plural because it is more than one, but what they don't say is that it is exactly two, and some of them are reskins of other models in the game.
- new skirmish maps - what they don't say is that these maps are the EXACT same maps you play in the actual DLC, so worthless.

Such a shame. Well I'll stick to V it seems. Thanks guys again, I would have been really pissed had I gotten it and found out I was stuck with campaign only.

You guys should check out Fallen Enchantress, it has everything Heroes have to offer and much more, including RMG. I would also strongly recommend Stormworld mod if you want to play that.

what about user created maps? forget the RMG, but if they'll release the toolbox for your own maps...

I would buy all the DLC and xpacs if they released a RMG at the end of their dlc push.
