Play game without uPlay

I myself play the game in online mode just fine (over 80 hours to it), but if you are the one who can't for some reasons you can play it offline mode.

After registering the game online, you don't even have to login to uPlay, just put "-offline" parameter to "set launch options..."

1. Create account at uPlay or login to existing uPlay accont.

2. Register the main game (Heroes® VI, Heroes® VI Complete Edition or Heroes® VI Shades of Darkness).

Important! Do not register other DLC at uPlay if you buy Heroes® VI Gold.

3. Additionaly you can unlock extra contenent at in game menu, like Danse Macabre Adventure Pack DLC or Pirates of the Savage Sea Adventure Pack DLC.

You can also unlock Heroes® VI Shades of Darkness or Heroes® VI Complete Edition over there, if you have registed previously just Heroes VI at uPlay.

4. Right click at Heroes VI

5. select properties

6. in the General tab is "set launch options..."

7. put line "-offline" to it.

8. play game without uPlay.

Notice! Some of the features will be disabled:
Dynasty weapons and traits, profile experience points (you can unlock more heroes, dynasty weapons and traits) and of course multiplayer.

Also you can't continue game in online mode and won't receive any game updates/patches.

I can't go online as it asks me to create an account (ok) and accept their TOS (not ok)

@Ari, yeah you need to apply for a refund because you don't agree with the TOS or EULA. Blizzard actually refund you if return an open box by saying you do not agree with their TOS or EULA.

High speed is 512k or above - Broadband speeds, it doesn't mean super fast fibre. And in this games case its the 'or access such Service(s) at any time' which is affected, the game, once activated, doesn't need the connection, but the ConFLUX, multiplayer and dynasty stats do require a constant connection.

I believe this is to stop cheaters - This is why you can't use your online profile offline then online again, if you could, you could use a trainer to edit your stats then re-connect. Its good this, stops having cheaters in multiplayer.

No it's not to stop cheaters. There are people playing offline who wants to have all the features of the game (dynasty weapons and traits in solo campaign mode).

Also, if you lose your connection while playing online solo then you will lose your progress. There is no local save. You will also not being able to continue your save game if you can not connect.

I think you can only activate it with Uplay launcher, like you can only activate steam keys at steam client.

WARNING: If you play the game offline then you CAN NOT use the save when you log in online. The opposite is also true. If you have been playing it online and for some reason you can only play offline then you have to start from the beginning.

Also, this post is misleading. You CAN NOT play the game without Uplay. You have to install Uplay and it will turn on whenever you start the game. There will always be a background process running Uplay when you play the game. In fact you need BOTH Steam and Uplay running to launch the game.

This post needs to be renamed as "Playing offline with Uplay"

Not true uPlay will not launch, if you start game with my guide.

Not true, I unpluged internet cable and reconnected to conflux and resumed online just fine. And you have local savegames (My Documents\Might & Magic Heroes VI), that are synchronized to the cloud after you exit the game.

the local savegames don't work when I play online. There is no online save in the folder.

Also, I tested. I can not save online when my cable is unplugged. It will not save until I have connection again. I also lost the online save when I play offline then went back to online again.

Yes you can't play online savegame in offline and the other way around. But you can always resume if you don't choose for another method.

I made a mistake and registered the wrong Key in uPlay, when i got the Gold edition, how do I change that, I cant play HoMM 6 at the moment, i get an error message when i start the game

Sad, I have heard that so many times before. That's why I included it to my guide. Frankly I don't know any solution for that, you have to contact to support.
