might and magic maybe the 6th? 6-7-8 are all pretty good though
If you've never played a Heroes game, either V or VI are probably the best places to start right now.
I do not remember it much.
Would liike to try it again, but not sure which to try.
Despite that, what makes 3 the best?
Was it a better story or mechanics?
Heroes III hasn't aged super well, but I wouldn't say it has any significant flaws. If you want to play multiplayer, I'd say III is probably your best bet because of balance and number of people still playing. If you're looking to play the campaign, I'd go with V or VI because they're a little more mechanically deep, have better graphics and tell a slightly better story.
Obviously, make sure you're OK with Uplay before getting VI.
Yeah, whats the deal with UPlay? I see alot mentioned about it, but not sure I understand whats going on.
The downside of Uplay (besides being another name and password you need to keep track of) is that it doesn't always work for everybody. I've never had an issue with it personally (and I've been using it since Assassin's Creed II), but a lot folks have posted about how Uplay wont sign on, or launch their games reliably, which means they weren't able to play the games they bought which use it. It also doesn't replace Steam, so if you bought a Ubisoft game from Steam (like Heroes VI here) you'd ALSO need to have Uplay running to play it.
If it works, Uplay is just a minor inconvenience. If it doesn't work, Uplay is a total show stopper. I recommend downloading Uplay and seeing if you can make an account and sign on ok before buying anything that requires it.
Just google Might & Magic Humble Bundle.
You'll also get to decide how much of what you pay goes to Ubi, Humble, and charity. So it's a good cause and Humble Bundle is a legit site, selling with the blessing the publishers, so you aren't in danger of buying shady keys.
Thanks I am gonna check it out
I would say the ones to avoid at first are M&M1 (unless you like old school CRPGs...but for the average person M&M1 could be frustrating), and M&M9 (which was rushed to release; New World Computing/3DO declared bankruptcy shortly afterward).
