patch 2.1.1 and nvidia, fixed?

havent tried the game for a while, today i patched it with 2.1.1 patch, so the question is, is the game finally playable with nvidia card? was geting black screens on fight start before.

Hey Daraath,
The patch came out a year ago, strange that after a year such questions occur. I have Gforce 660M GTX card and everything is fine for me, no black screen or other sh1t. So the answer to your question is YES, you're good to go :)

been playing for 30 minutes today, and got combat black screen again, so it seems its not fixed yet :( feels sad having the game for years and still not be able to play it

Same problem here, I have a Asus Geforce GTX Titan card.

Sometimes I can play for some days without the "Black Screen Battle Bug".

Sometimes I can get the "BSBB" after 1 - 4 hours of playin the game.

I have the game on uplay.

The latest patch only move the "Black Castle Bug", (when you was goin to do something in the castle, I think it was only Nvidia graphic cards users got that bug too, a black screen), to the battle screen.

EDIT: I have "Collectors Edition and Shades Of Darkness" installed.

I waited a long time for the "final" fix to the Nvidia bug, but it never came. Even with various workarounds in place, I would encounter the black screen upon entering combat at random times. I decided to switch to a Radeon-based video card, and have not had a single problem since.

GTX 780 (maxed out, downsampled from 4k), not a single black screen for 400 hours. Stop blaming NVIDIA, check for having two left hands.

Lenovo Y580 I7 3630QM 2.4 Ghz 8gb ram nvidia gforce GTX 660M + SSD ... if not you guys, i even wouldn't know that such problem exists :) Recheck your drivers, recheck your system, clean it if it's more than half a year after your last clean up. And in the end.. there always is a time when you need to get a new pc or upgrade it :)

If you're getting a blackscreen, you have hardware problems. This game is terrible, don't get me wrong, but the hardware issues are yours. there are so many reasons for a black screen, but probably you aren't getting a stable current down your rails.

Only problem with hardware settings and current flow is the fact that with, my machine at least, the Black Screen issue didn't manafest until After installing DLCs. Played 6 without Any issue what so ever; fired up Craghacks DLC and got Black Screen on Tactical View when ever mouse went over FOW area. Same with other three. Did upgrade PC to a true gaming desktop, and played Shades (my favorite) without any screen issue until 2nd or 3rd battle screen; then Black Screen darkened my day. ONLY happens when playing a DLC, not standard HOMM 6 campaign. So something changed in the graphics coding.

This patch didn't fix anything, before patch some Nvidia users had blackscreens and some hadn't, now is the same. It's totally GPU/Luck depended, and there was no word why this blackscreen bug may occur.
I have a laptop with Nvidia 740M and 560GTX on my desktop, same driver versions. I have blackscreen bug on my desktop with better GPU (560GTX) and I never had any blackscreen on my laptop with weak GPU (740M). Now go figure...

I don't get black screens anymore, but I still get occasional slow-downs, lag, etc. I can run any other game perfectly fine. This is literally the only game that's giving me issues.

Sometimes I can go for 3 hours an no black screen, sometimes I have to ctrl, alt del out of the game 5 times in half an hour because of it.

It's such a shame, the game itself is fun but ♥♥♥♥ like that just completely ruins it and ubi being too lazy to fix it is just unacceptable, such a terrible company.

Still getting black screens at town battles, and sometimes just for regular battles. Have tried deleting profiledata. Have tried setting priority to realtime/high and unchecked cup0 affinity. If anything it made the game worse - made the sound and music horribly laggy. I've had this problem for over a year. Only thing I can think of is to go back to an older nvidia driver from over a year ago!

Are you kidding me?! I have NEVER had such problems with a game before!

Edit: I gave in and went back to nvidia driver 301.24. I'm sorry to say the game is running much more smoothly in general, and I have not had a black screen yet. This seems to be the one and only solution that has worked for me. Good luck, all!
