Might & Magic: Heroes VI

Might & Magic: Heroes VI

Low FPS while moving on adventure map!
The game runs smoothly most of the time except when moving on the adventure map where it becomes really slow around 1-2 FPS probably.

Anybody know how to fix this?

I've tried lowering the graphics, but I don't think its that as I get good FPS when in battles and while my character is not moving.

I'll try running as admin though and see if that works!

ok boy maybe i can help you.
Does it only lag when you move your mouse?
maybe i am mistaken but try another/older mouse or lower the poling rate of your current mouse

Getting the exact same issue, I've tried everything. I played this game 6 months ago and it ran GREAT, 100+ FPS at all times, now I tried playing and the game runs smooth as butter until I move my hero, then the fps drops to like 10. The only change to my hardware/software was that I upgraded to Windows 10, maybe thats the problem. Compatibility mode does nothing.

Update: I dont think the lag is caused by the movement itself, it's caused by clicking anywhere on the adventure map. If you click your hero over and over, it still drops down. If I run out of movement points and try spam clicking, the game freezes. If I click somewhere to move, and then move by pressing spacebar, then the hero actually moves smoothly. So a semi-workaround to the problem for now is to click once to designate a location, then press spacebar. Now we need to figure out why the game runs like ♥♥♥♥ when we click on the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ adventure map. I plugged in three separate mice, some cheap some high end and the issue still remains, so it's not a mouse setting.

Yeah that sounds about right actually because if I move my hero a long distance it only lags for a bit then the rest of the movement is smooth. I checked my mouse polling and it isnt even high like aroun 150 or something.

I guess this issue is going to be ignored? No suggestions?

Hey, Quantum, Adymento. Any luck with troubleshooting the lag after mouseclick? I find the game extremely unnerving to play at the moment due to this. And I'm on Windows 8.1, by the way, not Windows 10.

Nope, still happening and everyone I've asked is clueless.
