Game Breaking Bugs and Solutions that have worked for me (so far)
I recently started playing this. Unfortunately, as can be seen from this discussion, there are bugs. As I play through the campaigns I will post solutions or workarounds. I'll be updating this as I go. I'm limiting this to truly game-breaking or major issues.

Bug #1: Black screen on Launch. (Win 10)

Solution - find the game exe "Might & Magic Heroes VI.exe" for me it's in Steam Library > steamapps > common > Might and Magic Heroes VI. Go to the "Compatibility" tab and add a checkmark on "Disable fullscreen optimizations".

Bug #2: Dynasty 5th slot purchased with UPlay currency not available in-game.

Solution - NONE FOUND YET

Bug #3: Sanctuary Map #2 will not launch crashing the game to desktop. The loading progress bar stops about 2/3 of the way before it stalls then crashes.

Solution - I had to Unequip my Dynasty weapon "Staff of Asha's Eightfold" prior to the final battle in Map 1. There seems to be a problem with Map 2 starting with it equipped. I can re-equip it after the new map starts up and games save and load with it equipped fine. It just will not initialize the Map properly if it is equipped.

Bug #4 (copied from below): Magic Hero Dynasty weapons will reduce your spell power in that school.

Solution - Never save the game with one equipped. Apparently removing it before a save and re-equipping it after a load is an workaround which works. (Not tested myself but major enough to make the list since it is most of the Magic Hero Dynasty weapons)

Bug #5: Sanctuary Map #2 - Fort east of the starting city disappears. You can't claim it nor it's barracks, nor complete it's quest.

Solution: I've tested this bug and it is tied to the Marksman trash mob located just North of the U-shaped stables. If you kill that mob the fort disappears. Your fort will disappear even if you capture the fort first, but by capturing it first, you will be able to claim the associated barracks and complete the quest as you still "own" the fort even if you cannot enter it.

(As a note: I didn't encounter the Necromancy bug as far as I can tell, but I'm not using Fanatic.)

Hey RWarehall =)

I've been meaning to the same thing for quite some time, except more exhaustive noting every little quark, exploit, and fun fact since I've played this game way too much (if my wife asks, I accidentally left it on when I went to work...a few dozen times) and many of them mentioned in the forums while extremely helpful, aren't quite accurate. But I'll try to limit my remarks to ones that make you uninstall.

Bug #4 (Worst one IMO) All Magic Hero Dynasty weapons with light, dark, etc, even prime [Element] Affinity will actually reduce your spell power in that respective school.

Solution - Never save the game with one equipped (or load that save anyway, every time you do, it won't load your hero with the increased spell power diminishing it by 10%/load in that school). I want to also say going Might is a solution since it's without exception, tactically/objectively superior to Magic in this game but I suppose that's another post =)

Bug #5 Necropolis Campaign, Necromancy becomes grayed-out/unusable. This one is a bit complicated and just plain terrible but there are several reach-arounds =). The bug will only affect one of the four ranks (if you have the bug it will always be that same rank disabled but which of the 4 ranks that is disabled throughout your campaign seems random)

Solution - #1- The best and easiest, if it's rank one you'll notice right away, simply restart the campaign. Similarly, you can detect right away if it's rank two; when your hero is level 1-4 it should only reach rank one, if it shoots past rank one to rank two when you're lower than level 5 you have the rank two bug and when you reach level 5+ rank two will gray-out, restart.

Note - There are other posts that speculate that Dynasty traits cause this bug, possibly the Fanatic trait in particular. Personally I've simply restarted the campaign with no trait changes and no more bug, and of course I had Fanatic, that trait is fantastic, nay, essential for Necropolis. Please see Bug #6.

Solution - #2- The rank 3/4 bug is far more problematic/rage inducing since you've already spent hours and made it through a lot of the campaign but there are some neat tricks I've learned. One obvious yet sub-optimal solution is to reach the next rank provided it's not rank 4 and your hero level allows you to reach the next rank. Note that equipping the Pendant of Mastery artifact (if you happen upon one) will enable you to to reach one rank higher to circumvent this. Another great solution I've noticed is if you click on Auto Combat, the AI will actually use the ability when its grayed-out! You'll have to be willing to accept that it will intentionally use the ability in the stupidest way (i.e. rez one Ghoul rather than 20 Arch Liches)
but it is the first thing it will do, so if you enable your ninja reflexes and click Auto Combat again quickly enough you can prevent it from doing other stupidest things =)

Bug #6 The Fanatic Dynasty trait doesn't/stops working.

Solution - If you equip this trait on the first map of the campaign and never remove it on subsequent ones it will work as intended throughout all the maps, including the final/5th. If you remove it, or do not equip it on the first map it will not work.

Note - In the Haven Campaign you'll be able to build a single add-on in a single town to grant the exact same effect as the Fanatic trait so don't bother wasting a Dynasty trait slot on it.

Solution - Unequip your Dynasty weapon prior to the final battle in Map 1. This fixed the issue as there seems to be a problem with Map 2 starting with it equipped.

Very interesting, iv'e never had this bug#3, but I have noticed a very related exploit but there's already way too many words in this post and I'm sickuh typing. Happy hunting =)

I like how you define that not-working 5th traitslot ingame a bug. It makes sense, even though it wont compell them to fix it at all i am afraid. They even made an announcement asking players to accept this sad state on grounds that they stopped supporting this game(oddly enough it was working at times even after they stopped supporting the game years ago)

I know it's an old post so i am sorry, but just to confirm as long as i unequip before save/load it's fine? i dont have to do it EVERY turn??? cuz that's something else i read... that would suck lol.

EDIT: damn dude i tested it out, yea my agony AT LEVEL 1 haha went form 39, to 35 to 32 dmg sheesh that's nuts... but can safely end my turns at least

Now i realized that even if you use that "reload ...i know where i messed up"-button in a battle it will create an autosave just before the battle only to, ofc, reduce your spell power in case your hero carries one of the magic affinity dynasty weapons. I was routed by this now too because i didnt consider that my "fix" (playing a magic hero i tried to circumvent this bug by only equipping that dynasty weapon right before a fight, unequipping it right after, before i do a quicksave or press the end-turn button) will not prevent the bug in this case. So dont use that reload-button in a fight using a magic affinity weapon.
