Why do people hate this game?

I haven't played it in ages do to my PC dying and now I am waiting to get a new one.But it seems like most people hate this game.
To be honest I find it better then first 4 and as good as 5th one.

FYI, i checked it out since I was told Uplay works now.

NOPE lol

I clicked "play" via Steam. Then a Uplay dialog box opened up. I clicked "forgot password" -afterall, I haven't bothered trying to login since 2014. When I clicked "forgot password" it linked me to an external website that said "invalid parameters" lolololololol. No matter what I typed in the user name or password fields, it just sent me to the exact same web address that says "Invalid Parameters." You can't make this stuff up. 3+ years later, and the game is still completely, hopelessly, utterly unplayable.

*Must login to Uplay to play your $50 game*
*Cannot login to Uplay*

...and that OP is why people hate this game and Ubisoft. I'm so glad I got a refund for this BS. Protip people: always buy software with a credit card. If/when it doesn't work, call your credit card company directly for a refund.

(in case anyone is wondering - no, I don't have any weird hardware or software that would cause Uplay to fail. I'm using a standard win 10, i7, cable modem with no anti-virus and no firewall)

Right. It`s the same with several Square-Enix games, and EA , and more. Sometimes a bit confusing, but there are plenty of help online.

Some people hate Heroes VI, some don`t . Imho, it is a lovely game, in many many ways.
Same with VII, which is a better game , even .

There is a game breaking bug where my hero permanently loses magic power evrytime i save .... Thats why i hate this company now and i tell all my 10 friends who have hundreds of games never to buy a ubisoft game again . Thats thousands of euros lost ;) I am glad i did my part . Boycott ubisoft

I still remember the day they introduced the black screen bug. It was right after the shades of darkness expansion came out, a lot of people suddenly couldn't play the game because the game black screened on the town screen.

don't forget the lack of a random map builder and the want more maps buy our "dlc" to get more wtf. i own every release of heroes since the first one. They ruined the franchise it with this release

And it was a cakewalk.

HeroesVI is my favorite : beautiful and charming graphics & sounds / UI + lots of campains + free maps + dynasty.

The campaign is complete garbage because the AI does not play the same game as you.

If you look at every single campaign map in the editor you will see that on day 1 the AI is given thousands of every troop available to buy, and millions of resources.

Then the AI is told keep an army of total cost X on this hero, of cost Y in this town, etc...

That's why if you beat a hero the AI replaces it with an identical size army right away. It is why the idea of starving the AI of resources does not exist since it pays no attention to resources.

It makes the game trivially easy once you realize this.

You say it's easy but i find it very hard...

First, i was afraid, i was petrified... (like in the song) but then, roguelike came out, lots of harsch games.

I came back to HEROES VI : i know, i can see, the AI cheats all the time. I've been playing it for 5 days of vacation, like 9h/day..! and yeah, i agree with you, the AIplays god mode : like, when i defeat a hero right in front of his (empty) town, and on next turn, without the new week "ding!", he has a new army ?!
But this is what makes the game so hard : cause you have to find a way, even if you are not equal.

To be honest, it's a lot of work, save-scum, reload, with breaks during the session, asking myself, ok what can i do, i'm f*cked up this time, but finally i win.
Currently on Sanctuary campain, this is hell by the beach !
