It's basically the same, but balance is worse, campaigns are scripted and unforgiving, leaving very little flexibility. It's just not fun and goes back to annoying instead.
Some of the campaign missions does feel a bit "time based", while others give you more time to get around to do different stuff.
The meat of the game is in character customization and the actual combat(or at least, this is where it excel compared to the other HOMM games).
Both require a fairly deep understanding of the different mechanics to get the most out of(just learning to use your faction ability correctly is a major step).
Which means that skirmish/hotseat mode gives you a lot of playtime.
The campaigns can be difficult, but does have an engaging story and is also quite rewarding(both in terms of beating it and progressing the story, and due to the benefits of unlocking new Dynasty weapons).
I have put hundreds of hours into this game, and been frustrated every step of the way.
the game is STILL full of bugs, even after all this time.
it IS that bad.
save yourself the headaches, and avoid this AND HOMM 7 like the plague.
In fact, save yourself headaches in general and avoid anything Ubisoft publishes, period.
it's quite apparent they do not like to pay their developers for in house testing of their products.
if you can get past the uplay stuff then it should be fine (for most people at least). and if you cant.. just refund it
Can someone explain that to me...
It's a pity that technical issues have ruined it, because it think Heroes VI is really nice.
