The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom - Gold Edition

fatal error
when i start the game i get the fatal error saying. Video mode could not be initialized could no set screen mode (error:-2). i tried going to ubisoft website and bluebyte but both sites are undergoing maintanence any idea? i have all the driver updated. i have a nividia 8800 gts on windows 8 32 bit
