cant open game

when i go to play it says uplay launcher has stopped working dont know how to play can somone help

This worked for me..though I didn't uninstall to begin with (and yes I checked and it was installed)..>I simply went to the ubi link you gave (and it logged me in to uplay on my account, which was nice) and downloaded uPlay and installed.

Then I opened up uPlay, then went to Steam (which I had kept open the whole time) and clicked play and the game worked!

Here is another solution that I found on youtube, it is by FreestyleOMG : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGA2U-jlhmU&feature=player_detailpage. Now my setup was a little different than his, I had to find the ubisoft folder in my program x86 folder and then look for the uUbisoftGameLauncher.exe file and make a shortcut. Then I placed that shortcut on the desktop. THen I right clicked the shortcut and chose to RUN AS ADMIN. Then when the initial window opened (keep in mind that for me the uplay kept crasching before I even had a chance to register) I clicked on the gear icon in the upper rightmost corner. Now at this point I only had four options and no choice at all about a proxy. I chose offline option. Then it told me uplay had to use online at least once so I could register. So I unchecked it. That should have screwed me right? But for some reason after 18 crashes that was the thing that worked. So I continued and finished the registration process and began the game. I minimized the game and went into the settings option of the now open launcher. Then I was able to choose Always Ofline mode, via Gear button, Settings, Network.

Gotta tell you, I loved Uplay in the beginning, years ago, now I could certainly live without it.

tried uninstalling uplay and reinstalling and i get the same message when tryed to launch game from new uplay - also have tryed to run as admin but to no good end - i keep getting "not available in your area message" can i get a fix here

not too long after making first message game mysteriously synced my save data to my uplay online account - weird - but now it works - hope others have less issues than i did

Hey Konabud, from what I've seen trolling the net there are wayyy more people having even more issues with the Uplay launcher than either you or me. With so many of us encountering such problems with the Uplay launcher I am very interested to see if TPTB will finally take notice and fix the **** thing. If you're out there Uplay people I am not buying another Uplay title until I know that this problem has been resolved. Oh well, at least we're able to play it now and it is a cool game. Let's hope they get their act together soon :)

find a solution, the steps:
1 launch steam
2 open Uplay and login
3 launch game from steam and get the game-code
4 add game-code on Uplay and register game
5 relaunch game from steam

basically it seems the mess is starting with steam launching Uplay. Launch yourself before and eveything will work (or at least for me)

did you try gowing to ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Settlers 7 Gold\Data\Base\_Dbg\Bin\Release and start Settlers7R as admin
It can be that you need to update the game this you can do at ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Settlers 7 Gold\Support\Base\GameUpdate

I just got it worked!
uninstall uplay or ubisoft game launcher.
get new version from the web. reinstall it.
and make sure you can start uplay launcher.
if you can see this game on uplay launcher You will probably can play it

but then I got region lock

So just clicked icon on my desktop background. and I skipped connectting steam and uplay,
it perfectly worked.

Refund is a method, not this. There's a little harder way to get a cracked version with the server emulator included. But i use steam, and i want to support developers, also, i don't want to do any magic just to launch the game. I'll never buy any ubisoft games in future.
