Free History Edition upgrade

Since the original game doesn't work any more, why don't we just get a free upgrade to the History Edition? The decisions behind this is all on Ubisoft. Forcing players to pay for the same game a second time just to be able to play is just toxic. Probobly not even legal in EU. Since I got countless of hours and childhood memories in this franchise going back 30y, it just makes me sad. It's not like you guys couldn't make it work, it's a pure business decision.

We don't have any news to share regarding this, Taneriiim. I'd like to assure you that we have forwarded the feedback about "The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom - Gold Edition" to the dedicated teams so they have visibility of this.

Any updates regarding The Settlers will be shared on our official platforms, so I recommend keeping an eye out there for any new information.

Yep, make a product and instead of releasing patches, they release a "new version" of it hoping people would buy again. This is the game that made me lose all respect for Ubisoft. After this one, I never bought anything from them (and don't even get me started on the hellish DRM they implemented). It's not like age of empires where all version are still available and currently working (since 2013 - not sure about the CD one). I wish I could play the old Gold Edition, but last time I tried I never got it to work on PC.

Doesn't work for me. Think I'm done with anything from ubisoft - they appear to just be hostile.

It would be nice if this info / post were pinned to the top if ubisoft is no longer distributing new or supporting old games through steam. I installed their client app and found all my old purchases still available after log in.
