How to start the game offline, please tell us in detail
When I do this, Uplay still directs me to steam, and steam launches it anyway.
same thing to me :/ it's incredible that there isn't a real solution...
I added a custom rule to Windows Firewall to block all incoming & outgoing traffic from HAWX 2 (the DX11 executable in my case). And now I can carry on playing the campaign. It leaves the MP out of action though, so definitely isn't ideal.
I have no idea why this should work. My only theory is there's some sort of weird always online DRM in place. If the DRM server doesn't give you a green light to play, you get booted to the main menu (maybe this server's down now?). But if you cut HAWX 2 off from the Internet completely, it assumes you have no Internet connection and skips this. It sounds insane, but it's the only explanation I can think of.
This works most of the time, but if I close the game, I have to wait for a while before being able to get the game to work again. (for some reason it still gives me the error message when I try to start it a second time without restarting my pc or waiting for a while.)
