it's worse than that, they've chut down the servers and you need to be connected to them even to play solo, so it's not possible to play to this game anymore.

Have you tried playing it with the multiplayer fix patch? I have been looking into trying to finish this games action in Uplay, via the patch and Tunngle. That seems to be the only way to play it nowadays,...could possibly not work still :/
