Scott and Bethany have been talkin a bit about their next game and assuming they start development on it later this year/early next it would likely be 2-3 years before it releases and /then/ NITW2 might start.
Do they sort their issues out? Do things just stay the same as they are, with the crappiness just getting shifted around? Or do things actually get bleaker for them all? I dunno.
I wouldn't be suprised if it took a long time for a sequel to come out. They raised the writing bar a bit high (that's putting it gently. heh) with the first NITW. and i don't think they can continue with the story of the mine and the cult since they pretty much summed everything at the end. Trying to make a sequel with the same crew and town will be kinda hard. Unless they make a new town and principal character.
I just hope they can keep up with the quality. but i'm sure they'll make it.
But are you sure that they are going to make a sequel? they said that they know what the second game is going to be about. but it could be anything? (Can you provide source plz? im dying to know heh)
and i liked casey mroe then germ, casey to me had a lot more backstory, but i hope the second one if anything continues the events, maybe even has a different cast? not entirely sure! im quite tired right now =.=
As far as I'm aware, the only thing that has been said is that Scott (Artist/Lead Writer) told Alec (Coder/Composer) what a potential NITW2 would be if they were to do it and Alec said it was a "very cool" idea, but that they had no intention of working on it any time soon as they were all going to work on different projects.
There IS going to be another NITW game though -- a prologue supplemental that is said to be based around the Killer Incident that is likely releasing towards the end of the year for Kickstarter Backers, and sometime after a period of exclusivity for the general public.
Considering everything that happens ingame it's hard to carry that on in a sequal.
However somekind of Prequal maybe playing as Casey for following a totally different story all together i would be up for.
Something like Longest Night the mini spin off type game where you play as a totally unrelated character, as long as it dosen't hurt the pretty great story of NITW i'm all down for it.
IDK About the story, the ending is kinda bit of a rushed, At least to me, And the whole Cult/black goat thing is kinda unfinished, I personally want to find out more about the cults and what happened to Mae and co after the events of NITW.
Also, I want Casey to appear in the sequal,(Direct or not)Hopefully It turn out that he is actuallly ailve.

Things like the unfinished Germ hang out or the side quest that goes through Jackies Transition.
The Jackie scene could be added back since it's only not in the game because they forgot to put it back in before launch.
