Any bass tips (Pumpkin head guy)?

I've put in countless hours trying to get at least an "okay" or "pretty good" for pumpkin head guy, and I can get every bit of it perfect up until the solo part near the end. I really want to get the bass achievment, so does anyone have any tips or tricks for this? Any advice is much appreciated right now.

Also I'd like to note that I am using a controller because that is much easier to hand-eye coordinate for me.

For Pumpkin Head Guy, I recommend the keyboard more. You can set the keys to like 1,2,8,9 instead of 1,2,3,4.

For the controller, you will have a hard time. If you still want to play with the controller, I recommend using both thumbs on the 4 face buttons.

I'd recommend looking for a post on the official NitW Reddit that had an Auto Hotkey script to 100% it. I just wanted to do so for the two associated achievements, and after six attempts using various keyboard configs, I just said ♥♥♥♥ it and downloaded and deployed the script.

It doesn't change the ending anyways.

Get a computer and look up the youtube video for pumpkin head guy played 100% correctly. Click on the settings gear for the video and set the speed to 0.5 for a slower version, then skip to the part where it all gets really crazy.
You can then play along to the video using the QWER keys, (as using the 1234 on your keybaord will make the video skip to different segments).
Essentially, in this way you can practice the song at a slower pace. As you improve, slowly turn the speed up.
If you are using a controller, watch the video for xbox version, and sit in front of your computer holding the controller, and practice along in the same fashion. Hope this helps all who come to this forum. Good luck.

This worked for me.

For the really hard part focus on 2 and 8, and hit 1 if you can do it without messing up the 2 and 8 pattern.

If you did well enough in the rest of the song you should get it. Took me about an hour of restarts.

The first two songs I could do with a controller but the A Y and X Y A combos I could not do at all. If anyone still has a trouble I highly recommend switching to keyboard.

Idk man finally seeing the maestro icon pop up after doing this eighth note fiasco was wild

That "pretty good" felt pretty great
