How to steal a pretzel?

I keep failing and I only get one chance per day. I tried doing the things I learned from the shoplifting sequence at the Urevolution, but the cook catches me in the act even when I stop moving. Night in the Woods is a fun game, but damn, those minigames are so infuriatingly hard.

That is very weird because it works exactly the same way as shoplifting game... If i remember correctly, you can exit the game an then load again and you will be able to play the minigame again.

I don’t know dude just stop moving when he begins to look back at you, I remember failing in the beginning too but it shouldn’t be that hard. Just keep trying

I do not know... the very first time, I did not quite understand what was going on, as it happened before Mae went to the Urevolution, so I did not move at all yet the cook still caught me.

I tried exiting the game and loading it again, but things go so fast, I still find myself getting locked out of the minigame. So frustrating.

Okay, on Halloween's Day, I tried again, played it suuuper safe and I finally did it. I still do not understand why I got caught the very first day, though.

If you even slightly move when the shopkeeper looks, he'll catch you. Get into a rhythm; whenever you see him about to turn, release all buttons, wait until he looks away, and then go a little farther.

If his eyes are still on you, you shouldn't press anything.

I'm not sure if this is what san means, but I don't seem to be able to access the pretzel mini-game. The little paw icon pops up when I'm in front of them, but when I press 'f' nothing happens. This is the only spot in the game (so far -- I'm only just past Halloween) where I've experienced this. Am I missing something here?

In order to actually get the pretzels, you need to have visited the defunt duck float first. You can get to him by going in an open window on one of the large buildings.

You'll want to stop even before his eyes move. Just move a little at a time and then stop. DOn't try to do it all at once. Really the last time you can move is when his eyes reach the middle but when you have the pretzel you should be stopping even sooner
