Again, not an issue, but it does seem odd.
There is middle ground between "there is a weirdly high percentage of gay people in this game" and "gay people actually do exist". But way to attempt to paint my comment as something it completely wasn't.
I just looked up the statistics, and of the US states, the Disctrict of Columbia has the highest percentage of LGBT people, at about 8%. That quickly falls off to 5% and under for all the other states in the USA. So, even going with the highest percentage, that's still less than 10%. I'm going to ballpark here and say that there's about 29 named characters in this game, and I can name 5 of them off the top of my head that are some sort of LGBT. That puts the average at about 18%, just going off rough numbers (I didn't actually count out the total number of LGBT people in the game, but I think my rough numbers are pretty close).
Discounting any characters I forgot about, we're still sitting at around double the percentage in the state with the HIGHEST per capita number of LGBT people, and more than triple any other state.
So, even if we assume that the game is set in Possum Springs, DC (which it isn't), then there would still be a very high concentration of LGBT people in this town.
Going back to my original point: I'm noticing a trend. Perhaps anthropomorphic animals are more likely to be gay than humans, who knows!
That's 2 for 2 strawman arguments. Got any more?
Never heard of CJ before. probably because last time i played it was at launch. (now i that i got back onto the game i'v seen him. but don't recall him saying he is gay.)
While it might seem like there's alot of LGBT people in the town, In one of Gregg's night, (The Legend, chapter 3), he does mention that him and Angus are like the only gay couple they know in the town.
(Possible smol spoiler on a small theory i made just for fun)
One of the reasons that i think why the town is dying, simply put, There's no jobs, so no interrest in staying in the city. Folks get out. Older people and elders stay at the town, so you got an ageing population AND a staggering one. No wonder why the town is "bleeding".
4 characters out of the 80 or so characters with dialogue is also not really that many (it's about 5%)
The only real difference is just that in this game, most of the queer characters are in the main cast and so it stands out more to some people.
Interesting!
Thanks for the thoughtful replies, guys. Got me looking at it from another perspective instead of just going on the defensive because of spurious acusations.
