Hold Onto Anything and Make It Last Achievement?
I know I'm supposed to finish the game twice to get the Hold Onto Anything achievement. Well, I've completed it four times. I've read that you needed to complete all of the friendship quests with Bea and Gregg as well as all of the ghost hunt expeditions. I did that! Where the hell is my achievement? Anyone know how to fix this? Is this a known bug? Please help.

Also, any insight on how to get the Make It Last achievement would be most appreciated. I've read that it's theorized that you have to complete the game three times as well as do all of the quests, find the dusk stars, listen to Selmers, feed the rats, etc. But I've done it all!!!!

When was the last time you did your playthroughs? Because the achievements were glitched for a long time.

Pretty recently. I finished my fourth playthrough yesterday, March 30th.

Hm, yeah, then idk. Some people say that Hold Onto Anything only seems to work when they do a Gregg-exclusive or Bea-exclusive playthrough.

I did everything outside of Demontower, and both achievements popped on me near the end of my second playthrough. I'm not really sure what triggered it, but that's how it worked for me.

Yeah, that's what I did. One run I did all Bea, and my next run I did all Gregg. Thank you for the input, though.
I've finished the game like five times and I had issues getting 'Make it last' on the sixth run. I even got 'Seriously?' bfore 'Make it last'. I think your best bet is doing EVERYTHING there is to do in the game. According to wiki (tho its just theory) its all friendship quests (inc. Lori and Germ), stars, Selmers poems (inc. library), pentagrams, rats, musicians, mystery tooth, Rabies... and probably everything else I forgot.
I was basically doing a full run last time, forgot to talk to saxophone lady once, did all other stuff, finished game, it didnt trigger. I reloaded at saxophone part, re-did it, got 'Seriously'. But I figured I skipped the tooth too, so I reloaded at library, read ALL the articles, re-did musicians (again), and after leaving and reloading game I finally got 'Make it last'.
I don't know why it didn't register before, as I DID do the tooth quest previously.
Just try and do a FULL playthrough. Id suggest making a copy of your save after each day, just in case you forget something (like I did).
Oh Ive beaten Demontower too, with good ending (needed it for "Seriously?")

Yeah, I figured I'd have to do something like that. Thanks for the feedback.

You mentioned backing up game files. Which ones do I backup? Or do I just use the "BACKUP GAME FILES..." option in the game's properties?

Okay, that was weird... I just got the "Hold Onto Anything" achievement in the middle of my current playthrough. It's on the day of Harfest, right after I fought with Mae's mom. I went to talk to Selmers, but I accidentally said no to her poetry. So, I closed out, went to reload, and boom. The achievement pops up...

"Well. That was a weird one"
I guess it has some backwards-written trigger, or we can't just figure it out.
Good luck with "Seriously?" now :undyne:
EDIT: Oh wait, 'hold onto anything' not 'make it last'. Durr.
That's strange, still - youre supposed to unlock that at the end of your second playthrough (from what I know. perhaps after meeting some extra conditions)

And oh, there are two .dat files, I think player.dat and persist.dat - player is your current game state, persist is stuff you did in your current and previous playthrough (tho player could hold current playthrough and persistent only general choices, not sure).
Anyhow, go look in c/users/(your nick)/AppData/...roaming? or roaming low? something like that, then /infinite fall (or the other way around)./nitw - and there should be the files.

Yeah, same thing happened to me. Last time I played was when I did "proximity" in June and when I launched the game just now I got Hold Onto Anything? (Btw this is my second playthrough so I haven't finished the game twice yet, thus I shouldn't have met the unlock criteria.)

I got Hold Onto Anything playing the Longest Night in the director's cut edition. I have done all the friendship quests (Including Proximity and Legends) but I have not COMPLETED my second run.
