A little question about the lore of Demon Tower and its mechanics
I know that is not relevant and I'm overthinking things, but I like it the minigame and I dont know if the devs can answer me I little question that I have.

There is a lore explanation (inside Demon Tower) of why you lose effective HP the deeper you go into the tower?

The souls games, you know the games that is referenced in the minigame, blend game mechanics and lore perfectly, I was wonder if there is a reason, I google it and I can not find anything about it.

So I would love to have some feedback, even from other players.

Well if you beat it the proper way, you kinda see what's going on.
The pale cat is dying, and every fllor she gets weaker and weaker. ( thats why you lse HP)
Also , you start to stagger more, move slower until you dssh, and get tired when swinging the sword.
The way i see it, you end up becoming the thing you fight in the end if you beat the game incorrectly. ( the final boss looks identcial to palecat, just stronger and taller )
That's true, you die in the end if you don't "stop the bleeding". The blood thief (vampire) is essentially stealing the blood and life from the forest god, which basically keeps everything alive. Stopping the bleeding with the true ending saves your life.

What TemmieNeko said. I imagined that the boss was a previous palecat who ascended the tower and started living off the rivers of blood up there. If you seal up the giant cat's wounds, you stop the source of the boss's life. I got the sense that the palecat is so weak because it is actively resisting this blood. There are a lot of parallels between this minigame and the actual story in the larger game. Most of the stages seem to have equivalents in Possum Springs: the church, the graveyard, the library, etc. Seems like there are references in the enemies as well: the hooded figures towards the very end, with the cultists you meet at the very end. The dude who shows you the chest positions every two days makes me think of getting to see the dusk stars every two days. The slain cat seems like the biggest giveaway though. It looks a lot like the nihilistic beast-god that you encounter in your dreams, but it also has horns like the forest god. There's also a visual reference with the constellation of Corvin:

I think the quest parallels with Mae also weakening as the days go on and coming close to succumbing to the cult when she starts to understand where they're coming from. Sealing up the giant cat's wound draws a strong parallel with sealing up the entrance to the cave.

Anyone catch anything else?
