weather machines on rooftops

So i found four weather machines on rooftops and when you jump few times on them they will send small package flying into the sky ... are they connected to achievement or story bit I just missed?

Yes, if you can activate all of them something will happen later on in the game.

How did you get on top of the diner? It's the last weather machine I need to activate

You really just need to time the triple jump right and land on a tiny portion in the front of the diner and jump off of it to the roof, it's tricky.

or you can jump from rooftop near neon sign

i just posted this, jump on the telephon wires to the right, move left, drop onto the light post, walk to the edge and jump to the left. you should land on a small light on the diner's roof ( its pretty tricky, but can be done)

I activated all of them and nothing happened. Is there a specific place you need to go afterwards?

You have to select Angus as one of the ghost hunting dates. (And you have to have activated them before going on the date).

Well, aside from not being able to jump on the diner roof, (does it actually require a triple jump, or just edging very carefully out to the edge of the light pole?) I also can't find the 4th machine? Could someone post the locations of all 4? Thank you!!

Just jump from the lamppost and keep hitting jump button, if you land properly, Mae will jump again, right on the roof, no tripple jump needed.

4 machines are:
Diner Roof
Roof near the steps to church
Roof of the building to the left of Lori M roof spot
Roof of the tall building to the left of Greggs house

I think those are it

Woo, thanks for all the help, I got the diner roof!
I'm still missing the 4th machine though. Would that be between the video store and the snack falcon? I can get onto the top of the video store, and then go left to the middle of the Social Security building, but I can't seem to get to the top of the any of the buildings between the snack falcon and the video store. How do you get up there?

Before one of the band practices, Gregg will complain that he was up all night because people in his building were fixing the way to the roof. After this, you can enter Gregg and Angus' apartment building and can access the roof which is how you get to the fourth windmill.
