Anyone Missing? (spoilers)
After the gang kills all the cult people, is anyone missing that could be a member of the cult? Also it's worth noting that one of them calls Mae by name when she first sees the group of them killing one of their own members, so it might be someone she knows and talks to in the game

I thought about looking up cult members too but it's somewhat hard to tell who's missing and who's not because epilogue is just (I think) 24 hours from events in the mine

And the person calling out Mae by name could be anyone, because everyone from kids to adults knows about Mae (because of her high school incident)

I've read that the town council and aunt Molly are absent from the epilogue though I didn't confirm that myself

yeah, molly is gone. didnt think of the council.
also, none of these characters are present every day (or are they?) so people not being in the epilogue might not mean anything.

but still, i like the idea of molly being a cultist.

Despite looking shady, I think Molly is most likely NOT a cultist

She's not present every day before the events, being a policewoman and all she's probalby busy investigating strange sightings, the arm, probably previous missing people, etc.

She's stopping Mae from investigating further for one simple reason: Mae is her family, and she knows how naive and prone to getting herself into trouble Mae is. I think Molly is just trying to protect Mae.

And the last thing is that in the initial scene, when Molly meets Mae, she takes her home. A cultist would probably kidnap Mae instead, because no one, except the janitor, knew that Mae is in town.

When you kick off the helmet from the cultist who tries to drag you you can see that they are a cat and they have whiskers just like aunt Molly so...

But they have a hole on the ear, which Molly does NOT have, the only 2 cats i know of that have that are Mae's Grandad and Scamz(I think that's the name) who you meet with Germ past the Food Donkey (It could be Casey too but not sure)

This game hasn't even been out for a month and this is probably the fourth topic I've seen trying to figure out which character was secretly in the cult all along. I don't understand why so many people are convinced that it's supposed to be someone close to Mae. I always felt like the cult was sort of like the KKK back when they were a powerful organization: pretty open about it with friends and family, just secretive towards strangers. I thought them asking Mae to be part of the next generation of the cult was pretty strongly supportive of this. They sounded like they were already planning to bring Mae and her friends into the cult.

Well, one knew Mae by voice alone, and you've likely met a decent amount of the town, her Grandad might have even had ties to the cult

I don't think that really says much, though. For all we know they could have been old teachers and neighbors she walks past every day without ever talking. Given some of the other themes in the game, it seems fitting that the cult might just be random people you barely know.

For a while I thought Mae's father could be one of them cultists. You never know. The tooth and all. Glad he wasnt.
The ending is kind of... underwhelming to me. Theres nobody even mentioning people missing, is there anyone? And it was a good bunch of people, at least 10, right?
Also, another thing. Can we be sure they actually died there? I mean okay, the lift did collapse, but did they die there? Maybe there was an extra shaft or something...

I think they left the ending vague and open to interpretation because it's part of the theme of the game. Life doesn't have a satisfying conclussion, or closure. You gotta keep living with the choices you made, and you gotta keep surviving day to day.

Also, you know who else you don't see around during the epilogue?

Garbo & Malloy

Makes you think, doesn't it?

Well, i just found another Black Diamond tattoo people likely missed, the Huncher's twin from Lost Constellation has a very similar tattoo, maybe the twin can be linked to the arm somehow?
