Is there any chance we could get this mode? As far as I can gather, there's an achievement to collect all journal pages, but it's kinda ridiculous if you missed one journal page during your first playthrough and need to beat Demontower again with the good ending during your next playthrough..

Nvm, got this response from one of the support people:
"hey! the journal pages do persist between saves, even if the journal in-game is blank, so no worries!

adam"

Any idea if the Demontower save persists, also?

Not sure! Don't think it does though.

What does that mean exactly? I started a new game by erasing my save, but the journal was blank, as they said. When does the journal fill with the previous journal play through? Does something happen through the game?

Well, apparently it means that if you're going for the journal achievement (Seriously?), you need to have gotten all journal entries. So if you manage to get the ones you need during your second playthrough, the achievement will unlock because you have seen all journal notes.

I did ask if they could let you keep your previous entries, and he would talk to the team about how to possibly implement it. :)

How to possibly implement it? So it isn't in the game yet?

Oh, my bad, should have been more clear.
Your old journal entries count BUT you cannot view them when you start a new game. I asked if they could change it, so when you do start a new game, you can choose to keep your old journal entries.
Otherwise it's kinda annoying to keep track of what you've already gotten and what you haven't.

So, when you choose to erase your data from the starting menu, and you start a new game, your journal entries are still there but they're invisible..?
Saraphel Feb 27, 2017 @ 9:53am
Yeah, the game keeps track of what you've seen. It's really a clumsy system though..

So, what happens with the journal? does it all become visable at the end?
Saraphel Feb 27, 2017 @ 9:58am
Don't think so! The game remembers you have seen them for the achievement, and that's it. Blank journal during your new playthroughs.
I do hope they will change this so you can have a full journal when you're done with all your playthroughs.

Aw, man. Something about the blank journal just makes me feel uncomfortable. I heard there was an achievement for 100% the journal?
Saraphel Feb 27, 2017 @ 10:34am
Yeah, me too. Especially because of the achievement regarding 100%'ing the journal.
Like I said, I asked them if they could let us keep our entries, so hope they will do it.
Bubobird Feb 27, 2017 @ 11:02am
Yeah, you and me both.

An easy way to implement it is to keep a copy of the journal in the main menu. This version of the journal would be updated with all the entries found, and could be seen outside the main game.
