Got it working on Windows 10
Hello all

Game didn't run initially however got it going now! unfortunately without Steam Overlay

How I got it working was going to this folder
"steamapps\common\The Settlers 7 Paths to a Kingdom\Support\Base\GameUpdate"
Opening the "S7GameUpdate.exe" (it downloads a 590MB patch)

After doing this go to this folder
"steamapps\common\The Settlers 7 Paths to a Kingdom\Data\Base\_Dbg\Bin\Release"
Right click "Settlers7R" properties, compatibility, set to run in Windows 7 as administrator

I really love this game, and I have been unable to play it since last year. I finally got this game to work using your suggestion. Thanks a lot.

Uplay is not as bad as it was couple of years ago. Most people who still complain about Uplay simply did not try it lately. I prefer Uplay to other *** like starforce. I personally think it went a long way since the beginning. It's now a solid client and i did not have problems with it lately. Of course running olg games on newer OS is often a problem. Can happen on Steam, Uplay, Origin and even GOG sometimes.

This said i wish Steam version of Ubi games would not require Uplay. Like i mean support Steam with achivements, cards and such or just don't sell your game on Steam at all since you are already selling them on Uplay anyway. The other problem is the price of their games is often better on Steam lol

But overall i would say Uplay is certainly good enough these days to not prevent you from buying a good game as long as it's using only Steam and Uplay as DRM and not other *** hiding itself as a device drivers that could potentially **** our OS.

My game played right off from the bat in Windows 10 Pro 64bit. Fantastic how it even supports 21:9 monitor pretty well with aspect ratio set to auto!
