Hi, is Silent Hunter's 5 multiplayer dead?
All I want is multiplayer.

No, not dead. But rarely used. Find a buddy who wants to play multi. Set up a game, it works.

Do both players need to have the gamefrom the same store; I mean if someone gets it on steam can they play with people who got it on Uplay

Ok, I just bought SH5, but I cannot access multiplayer. ''Play on Ubi.com'' servers are not available (inactive). Is there any solution to this?

Did youjust buy from amazon? I was looking at it but did not know the servers are down.

Is theire anyway ot host your own game

Yeah, I just bought it from Amazon, for like 2.30$, I guess I'll just wait, I hope it's ubisoft issues.

It's the basic MP and very much lack of a true COOP campain. Your just put with a bunch of ships and you kill a few and done.. I like it but there is way to little to last a real long time.. Shame maybe they will figure out how to make a true coop campain with SH6..

You have to play through either Uplay, or LAN. I works in both cases. Make sure before you multiplay that you and your buddies go to your data folder and edit main.cfg, set your port to either 19001 or 19002. Have fun!

By the way, if any of you need tips on WW2 U-boat acoustic tactics, messege me. I was a sub hunter in the US Navy during the late cold war, from 1987 to 1995. I helped write the book on ASW tactics from air, surface, and land (yes, land). The game is written well enough that I can use equations from back then, mostly euclidian geometry and Newtonian physics. Easy, when you've practiced.
