I never finish the game in stock, came close to it but did not.
If you want to fast forward to last timeline, use "silentotto" cheat to unlock all timelines. You can jump to the last one if you wish and see what happens.
The ending was very Ubisoft like
****WARNING****
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!
DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU WISH TO NOT KNOW THE ENDING!
I was sailing around in my VIIC/41, the end of the war was nearing, I was monitoring the radio messages that were telling the Uboat force to ceasefire and surrender. Then, a screen popped up which would show once you exited the game or completed a campaign. Missions completed, tonnage, rating, status, it was all there. But at the status part, it said "The war has ended!" and I clicked continue, expecting a patrotic cut-sence which USS Midway veteran mentioned, but no. I just got a black screen with sound and a moveable cursor.
Very
VERY
Disappointing
It was still an excellent experience.
I have also completed SH3, which had also the same kind of ending.
Yeah, thats all.
