I think the better question is "Some chance to get silent hunter 6...without Uplay".

Though this really isn't an answer to a sequel, I would recommend you keep an eye on a game called Wolfpack. Right now it is pretty early in development, but it seems they are shooting for complexity that lives up to the Silent Hunter series.

Though it is important to note that they don't seem to be going for solo play at the current moment, coop seems the only way from the information provided(Please correct me if the devs have said something otherwise). I really do hope they will allow for solo play in the future though(I suck at the Silent Hunter series so I am more of a detriment to the crew. Though MP may give me that kick to actually improve so I can enjoy sub games to their fullest extent).

There is even a demo you can play of a much earlier build when they were planning it as a fictional Swedish submarine game.

Right now that is our only hope for sub games in the future(Other than the one mentioned above).

You can check out their site here: http://www.wolfpackgame.com/video.php

what's the base game requirements (SH5) ? looks good i run SH3 and quite franky i'm sick of being the only one getting dept charged,i'd like to see a game based on the Red October movie, but combat was just exercises in the Cold War,besides i think the Silent Hunter series doesn't appeal to a wide market so i doubt we'll ever see another one as Ubisoft seems to have forgotten how to make great games

It isn't really very intensive so much PC's can run it.

This game has so much potitial. If they were smart they would fix the errors with this game add just some of the suggested addons and it would sell quickly. Their online MMO would have been ok, IF THEY USED THE SAME KEYS AS THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Silent Hunter 5 was an absolute disaster, there will be no Silent Hunter 6 coming from Ubisoft. That is a good thing; Ubisoft and their stupid Uplay sucks big time. Maybe some other studio will revist submarine warfare, Ironwolf for VR is a step into the right direction.
Keep our fingers crossed for Ubisoft to go bankrupt and sell all of the good Franchises away. IL2, SH and the rest.

Ubisoft only has claim to 1946(And all the packages that make 1946 up) and CloD as far as I am aware.

Considering IL-2 has had numerous releases since it parted with Ubisoft, I would think that it wouldn't matter in the slightest if Ubisoft would go bankrupt in that aspect.

Though I would love for the SH franchise to go to someone else, Ubisoft will just sit on it for however long the company will last (Excluding something like a mobile game, unfortunately).

I can't wait for Candy Crush: Silent Hunter for iPhone 7s. Now you can hunt for British destroyers on your way from work in the SUBway.
