Thanks for the advice tho, I'll keep it in mind. I assume I can get those cards from GX Chazz Princeton?
gimmicky decks based around 1 card are hard to update with modern cards since you're hoping for a bunch of pyro support, which there is but its also dated at this point and doesnt help counter the current meta.
if you played tag force then maybe you remember tele-dad? thats probably the only deck from that era that i think would stand any chance now since theres been tons of dark support that is still relevant now a days.
EDIT: im not saying dont do it because its still a fun deck to play with but just be aware of you're strengths and weaknesses against other decks and try to add cards to help with that.
I think I will avoid PvP for the time being, until I get to see all the new stuff episodes have brought. I am actually really enjoying using my old deck, although it saddens me a bit I've yet to find most of the cards I used to have. Currently my deck is at a bit of advantage because monster/spell ratio is 1:5 or so, but I don't think I've lost any single player duel with it so far.
I was hoping to chat with an expert some time once I get a bit more cards to help me make my deck a bit more viable and better suited for the meta, but all in its due time I guess.
Once again, thank you for the comment, I really appreciate it.
the pacing is pretty good in this game and i think you have the right idea with taking your time about it. maybe take some time to experiment with the example decks, this game has pretty good tutorials on how mechanics work, each era introduces a new style of play. persoanlly, i like synchros and pendulums the best but you may find one that adds extra power to your current deck or even introduces you to something you may prefer. playing a couple different decks may even teach you about a card you didnt know about for your current deck.
as for meta stuff, everybody has different playstyles and likes to use different types of cards. you just have to play around and see what screws you most often. if monster effects are causing you to lose, then add cards like breakthrough skill and fiendish chain. if spell and traps are getting you down then add more cards like mystical space typhoon. its just balancing your strengths and weaknesses. but you cant go wrong with good old solemn strike, thats just my opinion though ;)
good luck with your deck, and hope i was helpful to some degree.
