Anyone know what Pot of Greed does?

Seriously, it's really frustrating that no one is around to explain what Pot of Greed does. I have no idea how I managed to beat the Duel Monsters campaign with several people throwing it around like it was nothing and no one around to explain what it was letting them do. What does Pot of Greed do?

I think it lets you draw 3 cards, then you discard 2.

Pot of Greed is a staple card and just Draws 2 Cards.
