Can i play PvP with pre 5D's only?

So, is there an option for multiplayer to only match you up with ppl using older rules/settings/cards?
Specifically, i would like to play pvp in this game but i absolutely hate how it has evolved.. i loved the original ygo, i liked the evolution of the game up untill GX.. but 5D and further destroyed the game for me ( u know... all the special summon upon special summon 0TK BS that are the 99% of the current decks).

No. Maybe if you agree with it on terms with you the people you play with.
Other than that, just play with what you want.

Monarchs and Gravekeepers are decent decks you can probably play without any XYZ or Synchro monsters. But if you are strictly looking to play with cards that were released prior to 5ds including non XYZ and synchro cards you might be restricting yourself too much.

It's not 'restricting' for the sake of restricting, but rather for the sake of gameplay. I personally do not enjoy matches that last 0 to 3 turns, and the introduction of pendullum, xyz, synchro and any new ones that i've missed, has made the game super super fast and as i see it those mechanics are actually huge restrictions due to the fact that if you want your deck to be viable u must follow/copy those rapid kill strategies.

Actually there is much more variety nowadays than in the first gen when every deck was a simple beatdown.
While I can see the appeal of playing oldschool, I don´t quite understand why everybody thinks there was an option to turn most of the cards off. There has never been a Yu-Gi-Oh! game with an option like that. And everybody should know before buying that this game contains XYZ/Synchro/Pendulum.

I know ygopro-percy let's you do that but definitly not this game. You can play online even with banned cards as well. Since all card are unlocked I got to make a goat format deck for the first time.

Maybe you try to download yu gi oh Duel links it is without syncro pendel or xyz
