If that is the case, then the graphic is displaying wrong for the AI. It shows up correctly when I use it.
Wrong it's bugged, for the duelist the gold side is head and silver side is tails for the AI it's backwards so for the AI heads is silver and tails is gold

This should help clear it up for a few of you. Should also explain why it reverses sometimes.
You never actually know what the PC calls, so it never actually matters what it lands on, just think of it as more a 90% chance they will get it.
As for the player, you will notice its not based on heads or tails itself, but what you call, this is why it will change when the CPU uses it as well. If it lands on silver, and your monsters blow up, that just means the CPU called that side of the coin and got it right.
