This dev's previous game (Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation) is available worldwide and it's using TCG rules.

I guess you can get it if someone sent it as a gift, thats how some guys got Dark Souls 1 steam ver. in Japan. Still im not sure if you can play the online mode ;p

Region locking is, and always has been really dumb. And this is Konami, so... yeah.

The reason is that the licenses for the asian realm are not given..
The company that developed this game only has the eu/na rights / bought only those -> may not be played outside... thats the only explanation as yugioh is kinda a worldwide trademark overall

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation (Android game) is available worldwide and it's from same company.
I still don't know why this game is different.

yugioh in america/europe and asia is played very differently with rules and cards available, this is a TCG game, not OCG.

But still, Duel Generation that uses TCG ruleset is available worldwide, not just America/Europe (I can download and play it on my phone), but not this game, despite from same developer.
