Even if they manage to hit the field, they can just be hit with any generic negation/destruction card or effect; Solemn/Mirror Force/Trap Hole. Staple rank 4s like Castel and Silent Honor also screw them over. They're ok for fun and nostalgia, but otherwise they're not worth the resources in today's game.
Mirror Force works against them okay, but there's no negating or "Trap Holing" the summon of any egyptian god. They're quite vulnerable after their summoning, though, true.
On topic, you get the God cards by beating each of their respective owners if I'm not mistaken, in the campaign. Yugi (Slifer The Sky Dragon), Kaiba for Obelisk, and Marik for Ra
Personally, I always liked slifer, and while people say he's weak I beat stronger opponents with it

None of the god cards is weak, that is nonsense. They are just hard to summon, which needs 3 tributes. In that sense, even with all the ridicolous stats and protection they can have, they can't keep with the speed of modern dueling very well. Countering one can be challenging, but it won't get to that in most games.
If you play a god card, you play it to defeat your opponent in one turn. And there are tons of one-turn-kill alternatives that are played much more easily. Heck, even the old Cyber End Dragon is a more effective OTK monster.
God cards are not weak, they are powerful. But they are simply too slow.
True, I would run Mask of Restrict and Fog King alongside that then. Both of those prevent tributing. Just gotta remember to activate those after summoning Ra to your opponent's field.
It takes some risk using the god cards and a lot of critical thinking of when to, which is gained by trying and failing.
You easily get them in the card store by purchasing booster packs with in game earned currency from the campaign. And then you can change / make your own decks.
