Effective Difference Between Solemn Strike and Solemn Warning
So with Solemn Warning, the card effect states that by paying 2000 life points, you can negate a summon or special summon or negate the effect of a card that special summons a monster and destroy it.

With Solemn Strike, the card effect states that by paying 1500 life points, you can negate a special summon or negate any monster effect and destroy that monster.

Aside from Solemn Warning having the advantage of negating any summon, not just a special summon, why is it limited to 1 while Solemn Strike allows you to negate a special summon OR negate the effect of a monster and destroy it and remains unlimited?

You know, Solemn Strike is in the 'nominees' to be in the next banlist, or at least to be limited...

So you think there isn't really a huge difference then?
I personally do not think so.
Some recipes have 3 Solemn Strikes + 1 Solemn Warning

The solemn series of cards is always something designed as the ultimate field control tool (counter trap/spell speed 3) in this case they are risk vs reward cards and there now seems to be a variant that is abused every few formats when a new one is brought out.

Simple counter counter will get rid of them but best play a counter trap that costs them the lp first and let them have it.

Same for people who need bottomless too, they are staples but it's not original even though in the TCG it's part of "competitive build" to use hole, anyone can use it.

the main difference that makes warning slightly better is that it can counter : normal or flip summon , and a magic or trap effect that scpecial summons , what strike cant do ;)

Yeah as he said. Special summon and a card that special summons are two *seperate* things. Be careful

Edit: and by card I mean a card effect that special summons such as a trap or spell. Always check your card lores and rulings!

I'd take under consideration using other negate cards as well like Black Horn of Heaven or even Divine Wrath (if it's in your interest to discard cards).

Both "Solemn" cards are obviously better and most successful negate cards of course, all I'm saying is you can always sacrifice a bit of ground to (if you) use your whole deck as leverage against your opponent.

Solemn warning overall is better than strike, considering the time release of warning the game was entirely different than it is now with all the effects of monsters around

I can highly recommend the lore of Jerry Beans Man.
