I completed Decks 5 and 6, if this is what you mean. I had 6 characters in party: Ezren,,[rogue], Harsk, Kyra, Lini and Lim
Well if you can make him work them good for you. I don't think he's OP, seeing as how he doesn't have blessings and can easily die to a failed combat or damaging trap check. The game does start giving him lots of support with intelligence based cards to make up for the lack of good stuff at the beginning to middle of the game.
Personally I found the fighter to be the most reliable. I think in my last run I lost one fight (who would expect a 4 on 2d10 + 1d12). You aren't wrong that its better to win fights than use armor, but it is nice to have some armor to soak damage from those bosses that do damage before battle.
I think they did a really good job of balancing the characters. I'm not a fan of the bard or monk, but beyond that all have their uses.
