Uses for Gold
So I bought the Obsidian Edition of the game. This means I got all the Treasure Chest cards I could ever want. With the recent changes to pricing, I noticed that outside of Runes, Charms, and the tiny selection of very mediocre shop-only cards, there just isn't really anything for me to spend my gold on.

Back when I bought the Obsidian Edition, you could buy DLC for the game with gold. I figured that, in the future, that would be how it would continue. Obviously that's not the case, and that's fine. I don't mind paying a few bucks here or there for new content to help the game grow.

But I am curious about gold, as for PC players with the Obdisian edition, there's basically nothing to spend gold on. I have about 43,000 gold...Obsidian! Give me something to buy! :D

EDIT: Turns out the new adventure that is only avaliable for real money exclusively rewards TONS of gold. In other words, the new adventure increases the need to address the "What do we do with gold" issue.

Use gold to gamble on treasure chests for extra copies of 1 card in your collection.
Unfortunately even that is useless because you only still require 1 copy of the card in your collection to allow infinite amounts of it in a party. Having multiple copies only increases your chance of the extras appearing in any scenario upon creation. Why is this still a thing? I liked before the update, and now they have to **** it all up.
So yeah, gold is useless as of now.

Yeah, I have all the treasure chest cards, they're worthless, like you pointed out.

I honestly don't mind the change to pricing. They gata make money and if you could buy the new content with gold, PC players would basically never buy anything with money ever again. And it's hard to make new content without money. Besides, 3 bucks for the new content is a very very reasonable deal.

That being said, I DO want something useful to do with my gold, you know?

I highly doubt you have the extra COPIES of several cards. No one has that much time to have 6 copies of slaying... whatever. Gold is still useless but if you have nothing to spend it on i'd probably work on getting the extra copies of a card so that in the future when the game does get fixed with the inventory management, you'll be ready for the deletion. But then again they'd have to think about the anger and emails they'll get from asking: "what happened to my cards? they got deleted?" only to reply to them saying: "inventory management is fixed!"

Hmm... nevermind, doesn't look like this will get fixed XD... yeah gold is useless.

At least you could buy dice skins for a ridiculous price before. Not much but it was something. As of now, the dice skins have disappeared from the Store. There's even less uses for gold now =/

Hopefully Obsidian will add something new to buy with gold.

Gold is used to buy chests, which give you extra cards from other Pathfinder card campaigns. (You should buy chests in the mobile version of the game, where you can buy 6 chests for the price of 5).

Looks like it's cheaper to buy the game here, link it to mobile, and then play the game on mobile I guess.

I wish they'd have branched out to Skull & Shackles, Wrath of the Righteous, Mummy's Mask, and the new "Core set"

Yes it's sad that they originally had such a terrible business model for the game that it failed. At least some of the cards from those sets made it into the game.

Nowadays I use gold only to buy chests hoping to earn new dices.
