Steam Deck Troubles...
Hi, everyone! This game runs fairly well on the Steam Deck, but there are some troubles I was curious about whether or not anyone knew any solutions...

So, the first thing is that it seems to default to controller, even without a controller. There are no inputs in the menu for the mouse, or prompts onscreen for button presses aside from controller prompts.

This is annoying. I am also only able to partially navigate the menus. I figured out that Q and E are L1 and R1, but there doesn't seem to be any binding for L2/R2 so I can't go into much through the settings.

Also, just for curiosity's sake, I did hook up a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller just to see, and even it does not work for menus. I can look around, but I can't walk using it.

Not sure overall!

Probably way too late for me to comment here but did you try switching to the default controller scheme from the Steam Deck itself. There’s a steam controller variant that works right out of the box and used all the buttons with proper prompts too!

Never too late, thanks for the reply. Yes, I have tried the various controller schemes, but perhaps I missed that one. Got a name for it? Still haven't been able to enjoy this game on the Deck yet btw lol

This game still remains unplayable for me on the Deck. I just realized I have 4 hours into this game, more on non-Steam platforms of course, but that 100% of those 4 hours are me trying various configurations, control schemes, settings, etc with very limited success.

Menus are unnavigatable, and when I do manage to get into the game to test anything, there's always something that doesn't work. I can't move the camera, or I can't move...

Anyone enjoying this on the deck feeling generous enough to share what settings you use? What layout for controls? Thanks in advance.

Not to be redundant but wanted to say I'm experiencing the same issue. Ironically I was using a controller for convenience and then went to lay down and realized I couldn't play. Touching the right stick made gyro controls activate but I couldn't interact with menus. So weird man.

Okay uh actually I think I figured it out? I feel kinda dumb. So my controller was on while trying to play and that stopped me every single time. So I turned it off and it worked Immediately. Like I'm talking instantly just worked with the deck buttons
